Experts say the legal justification for US military boat strikes in Caribbean, Pacific is murky

As bipartisan investigations continue into the U.S. military attacks on alleged drug trafficking vessels in the Caribbean and the Pacific, there are questions about the legal justification for such actions.

  1. Then they are not really experts, are they. Anyone the Regime media calls "experts" are not someone to be trusted. Right now I'm trusting the article published by WSJ, interviewing some of those boat pilots. They are absolutely trained as a military soldier and are prepared to give their lives to protect the product. They fully expect to die in the course of their travels. These are not casual fisherman out for a day of pleasant, joyful angling. No. Not even close. These are hardened military style trained narcotics transporters, doing a work that is just as dangerous as hardened soldiers crossing a border to plant explosives and do major work to destroy the enemy from the inside out. In this case, the USA is their enemy. The fact the Dems are so adamant in protecting these insurgents tells us pretty much all we need to know about who they really are and where their loyalties lie. ☠

  2. pearl clutching retards like these are exactly the kinds of people the cartels take advantage of. The whole "arrest" thing hasn't worked for the past 50 years or so, time for something a bit more permanent. This isn't a marvel movie where the hero gets to win while being clean.

  3. Striking Venezuelan terrorists and drug dealers is not fair.
US military should target those who pay for drugs and benefit from drugs and crime – US democrats.
It's unfortunate, but JFK's party became a terrorist gang.

  4. Notice that this "expert" is a far left radical law professor. Just like radical judges, they go by ideology and not the law. If they did they would know that the president is absolutely within his right to take down narco-terrorists by LETHAL FORCE at any time! Obama did this in Iraq killing THOUSANDS of muslim terrorists. Where was this "expert" then? Or when Obama killed Osama Bin Laden and his associates?
Its clear this is just hate Trump and hate Trump some more.

  5. If the strike was war against combatants it was legal. If the combatants were concealing their combatant intent with non combatant appearance they were unlawful combatants with no non combatant protection. That makes the second strike legal.

If these 85 killed were families out on fishing trips that's bound to have evidence reporters can gather. They're not reporting finding it. If they were narco terrorists against whom we've declared war they keep their boating trips secret, and our side keeps the intelligence we gather about their trips secret. Reporters would find, and do find that evidence hard to find.

  6. Its not murky. Stop it. Get over your TDS. Narcotic terrorists and drug cartel are getting exactly what they deserve. You gonna pull a Washington Post? Stir the pot? Think of the tens of thousands of drug deaths each year. Stop

  7. What’s “murky” about targeting speed boats carrying illegal drugs to U.S. shores? Their intent is killing Americans for money. Only a Democrat or liberal, or socialist or sociopath would be ok with their intent.

  8. Kill em ALL….. where does a Drug Dealer sit on the chart of Humanity ….. Hmmmm… First you have civilized honest tax paying loving people… 2nd Family oriented good people,,, 3rd Good people … 4th Not so good people ( liars , dishonest people, cheaters ets… )….5th the basic criminal,…6th the Politician …. 7th The Murderer , rapist , etc… Then you have for ….8th our pets dogs + cats + snakes + reptiles + Birds …. 9th Scum people that deserve to die , but we dont Kill them ….. 10Th The Scum DRUG DEALER who shouldn`t be allow to even exist on this chart…. and Then theirs the Democraps in LAST who protects the Scum Dealer ….

  9. US. Government just gonna make it worse. The price of dope gonna go up and so will crime. Ain't nobody pushing dope on anyone. They buy because they want it like a beer or shot of liquor or a cigarette. They make a lot of money off off none violent drug offenders. The war is going to get worse people.

  10. Crap. War has changed, as it always has changed. We no longer picnic on hills overlooking a battlefield. The influx of drugs is now being tackled directly. Our southern border is now controlled, our northern border is a work in progress. Pressure is on China to stop shipping the precursors for fentanyl production. The boats we are sinking have to be hurting the cartels. A JAG lawyer was involved in the sinking of this boat. None of our personnel were injured. War has changed. Job well done. STFU

  11. We believe that time is being wasted by Republicans trying to figure out if we should hang these boat people with a red rope or a green rope. Nobody seems to be putting forward the idea that back "in the day" we used to flag suspect craft down with a siren and/or a loudspeaker command to "Heave to and come about" accompanied with 2-3 seconds of 50-cal 100-200 meters ahead of the boat. This is not some "theoretical outcome," but what both the Navy & the Coast Guard actually did. This administration is lacking the evidence of exogent circumstances requiring the immediate use of deadly force and is instead trying to use its video assets as well as blatant lies by ostensibly lackey public figures to sway public opinion away from what is turning out to be murder on the high seas — with not a hair's breadth of difference from what The United States of America executed Japanese Naval officers for approximately eighty years ago.

  12. We want the fentanyl out of the country. The Geneva Convention is a treaty among countries. It's not law in the typical sense of the word and even if it were it only applies to the signatory countries, not transnational criminal organizations engaged in assymetric warfare against the United States.
