Officials report that funds were sourced from outside Burkina Faso, particularly Ivory Coast. Intelligence intercepted video discussions on targeting Traoré and other officials, alongside plans to disable military responses. Despite facing numerous assassination attempts since taking power in 2022, Traoré maintains strong support, particularly among youth, by enhancing national sovereignty and distancing from Western influence.

They pay some group to carry out an assassination attempt and it works out even better if they fail because then, historically the leader becomes paranoid and starts eliminating the opposition which is a propaganda win every time.
