Burkina Faso Foils Coup & Assassination Plot Targeting Junta Leader Traore | Firstpost Africa | N18G

Burkina Faso has thwarted a coup & an assassination attempt against junta leader Captain Ibrahim Traoré, planned for January 3. The plot allegedly aimed to destabilize the government, with former leader Paul-Henri Sandago Damiba orchestrating the attempt from exile in Togo. Officials report that funds were sourced from outside Burkina Faso, particularly Ivory Coast. Intelligence intercepted video discussions on targeting Traoré and other officials, alongside plans to disable military responses. Despite facing numerous assassination attempts since taking power in 2022, Traoré maintains strong support, particularly among youth, by enhancing national sovereignty and distancing from Western influence.

  1. I playing basketball blindfolded, I told that there's unknown number of balls in a big basket to use, All I need to do is feel for the ball, pick it up and do free throws, it's only takes one to go it, I can afford to fool around as much as I like, Qqq😂😂😂

  2. If this was a white or European country it would be called a revolution. But in Africa it’s called a coup. This reporter is biased based on the words chosen to describe what is going on. He’s brainwashed by westerners and probably thinks he’s white. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  3. Why don’t yall mention all the infrastructure he’s put in place to support his people and how once his people saw the changes he was making they started to support and back him as well!!

  4. This is part of the cycle that neoliberalism wants to play out. They pay some group to carry out an assassination attempt and it works out even better if they fail because then, historically the leader becomes paranoid and starts eliminating the opposition which is a propaganda win every time. Of course the leader is only protecting the revolution but they know from the outside this will look bad for them. Rinse and repeat.
