Traore Bans 118 Civil Groups in Burkina Faso’s Massive Security Crackdown | Firstpost Africa | N18G

Burkina Faso’s military leader Ibrahim Traoré has dissolved 118 civil society groups in a sweeping move authorities say is tied to national security. The decision follows a 2025 law tightening regulations on associations, with officials claiming the affected organisations failed to comply. The crackdown comes as the country battles insurgent groups linked to Al-Qaeda and ISIS, with large areas reportedly outside state control. While the government argues that strict measures are necessary in wartime, critics warn that the move is shrinking civic space and weakening oversight. As security pressures mount, Traoré is redefining the balance between control and freedom in Burkina Faso.

  1. What civil group?
The group that are paid by the west to create chaos. Keep your civil group in the west..they are working just fine in your country.

  2. Work not War🦁🧠✂️🔧
It's time to take your responsibility on your own hands. After so many years your people should have been trained to carry out those tasks. Train, employ and au your national to stay and work in their own country instead of becoming unwelcome guest in someone's else's kitchen where their passport is taken from them. What is perceived as saving funds cost more sometimes.
Train your young and semi retired personnel to become
    .Nursery nurses
.Teachers and trainers and Craft workers.
.First Aiders, divers, life savers and trainers.
By the way how about carrying out a Survey to get some ideas of the quantity, sizes, volume and different materials used throughout the Health Service (especially Pharmacology Units) to provide boxes, bottles, vials, jars, jugs, crates, tins, spoons, droppers, test tubes, specimen containers, labels and what ever else that could be mass produced locally without the demands of very long expensive training periods.
