  • Consumers can support Black-owned businesses by being intentional about where they shop and researching companies.
  • Shopping locally, leaving positive online reviews, and sharing businesses on social media are effective ways to offer support.
  • Purchasing gift cards and attending community events can introduce new customers to Black entrepreneurs.
  • Support can extend beyond retail to include professional services like accounting, legal services, and catering.

As communities recognize Juneteenth on June 19, it is also an opportunity to support Black entrepreneurs who help strengthen local economies, create jobs, and build trusted businesses in our neighborhoods.

Supporting Black-owned businesses does not have to be complicated. Small, intentional actions can make a meaningful difference year-round. When consumers choose to support businesses that positively impact their communities, everyone benefits.

Be intentional about where you shop

Create better purchasing habits by thinking more carefully about where your money goes. Take time to learn about the stores, restaurants, and brands you support and how they engage with their communities.
