Black Farmers’ Market Memphis kicks off its 5th season Juneteenth weekend


MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Center for Black Southern Culture celebrates the beginning of its fifth season of the Black Farmers’ Market Memphis during Juneteenth weekend.

The market began its opening celebration Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church located at 491 East McLemore Avenue.

The market will continue until 2 p.m.

The regular season will run every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Visitors can enjoy fresh local produce, local vendors, and live music, creating a familial Southern atmosphere in the community.

The market says it aims to bring together farmers, growers, foodpreneurs, and artisans in historic South Memphis while strengthening the local food system, economy, and community health.
