South Africa is witnessing another wave of anti-immigration protests as tensions over undocumented foreign workers continue to escalate. Demonstrators in Cape Town and other regions are demanding stricter immigration controls, a pause on new visas, and action against fraudulent permits.
The unrest follows weeks of deadly anti-immigrant violence, with reports suggesting that more than 176,000 people have fled the country in recent weeks. Protesters argue that tighter immigration policies are necessary to protect jobs and opportunities for South African citizens.
Meanwhile, the African Union has backed South Africa’s proposal for a continent-wide dialogue on migration instead of discussing xenophobic violence as a standalone issue. The move highlights growing concerns over migration, border management, and regional cooperation across Africa.

As a South African, I don't know who's funding this nonsense. People like to blame Nigerian drug dealers, but the real problem is a system that's too corrupt to catch criminals in general.
The people being chased away are, in many cases, not criminals. They're hardworking Africans trying to build a better life—the woman looking after your children, the man delivering your food, and many others doing jobs that many South Africans don't even want because the pay is so low.
If we want to fight crime, we should focus on the actual criminals, not ordinary people trying to earn an honest living.
You are never at the scene
What's the point of protests, As an South African people will still vote for ANC😒 over and over😑. Time and time again people will still vote for ANC😐
