Caribbean leaders hope that Britain under its new Labour government might shift its long-standing position on slavery reparations and agree to discuss how to address past wrongs and their current day legacy.

WE ENDED SLAVERY IN 1810, WE WERE THE FIRST COUNTRY TO DO SO WHICH LOSS ALOT IN TRADE AND NEARLY BANKRUPTED UK BUT STILL WE CONTINUED UTIL OTHER COUNTRIES FOLLOWED SUIT! We were not the only country SPAIN, BELGIUM, THE NETHERLANDS (whom were the worst) USA TO NAME A FEW!!! And tbh it was the royal family they should be taking this up with… not UK!

One thing many human beings have in common is greed. I've worked my a*** off & am sick of the money us taxpayers keep having money taken off us & given to benefits, immigrants & now more ppl expecting handouts – is it not slavery working 35hrs a week to have 25% deducted to be dished out to all the other scroungers who get discounts if not free services whilst us workers are charged so basically pay twice for others & for ourselves, bloody joke & ppl are getting very sick of it especially the ones agreeing – if you agree then you feckn pay it from your income!!!

The UK sends £13 billion in foreign aid and £50 million to China. Since when has China been in the commonwealth. Why pick on only Britain not others or African counterparts? Britain sent navy to stop slave trade. They lost money on wars, Councils are bankrupt, schools crumbling, NHS debts delay treatments prolong hospital queues, potholes on roads, pensioners winter fuel taken away, punitive tax worker's pensions, millions living in poverty, food banks, 74% more homeless, austerity measures affects people, high unemployment etc how can they afford reparations alone if other richer countries involved are not asked for payments too?

That's a lot of Ganja, no way are they going to be spending it on infrastructure or industry. Can you imagine if they did and on opening day everyone phoned in sick, unless, they decided to import workers from the UK. I'd go. Mostly for the Ganga but a nice toasty climate and a cracking job too. Warm seas, fishing, getting a tan. I'm in if they spend all that money creating jobs.

All the Convicts sent to Australia and who were after years of incarceration found not guilty in the Old Bailey and given a Pardon. As in my family's case do they deserve some sort of reparation, in my view it is all sheer ludicrous in this age say sorry yes but pay who me NO WAY.
