In a move to foster greater regional integration and tourism, Burkina Faso’s junta-led government has waived visa fees for all African travellers. The country’s security minister announced the decision last week, following a cabinet meeting chaired by junta head Captain Ibrahim Traoré, a vocal proponent of pan-African unity. While visa fees have been abolished, African citizens must still complete an online application for approval. This initiative aligns with a broader trend among West African nations, including Ghana, Rwanda, and Kenya, which have recently eased travel restrictions for African citizens. The move is seen as a strategic effort by the country to gain support and boost its economy following its exit from the West African regional bloc, ECOWAS, along with Mali and Niger. The government, however, faces criticism for its handling of ongoing security challenges from armed groups, which control a significant portion of the country.

Fxck u if you still call him Junta after this great gentlemen making history.
The world is watching Traoré because he dares to defy the old rules. He’s not just changing Burkina Faso—he’s rewriting the narrative of African leadership. And people are waking up to that truth.
What are they really doing in Africa. Nothing good for Africa
What I admire most about Ibrahim Traoré is that he never forgets who he is fighting for—the everyday people who’ve been left behind for too long.
