African migrants return home to unfulfilled EU‑funded promises

The European Union has poured hundreds of millions of dollars into an UN-run programme, meant to help African migrants go home and start over.
But an increasing number of returnees say they haven’t received the promised economic and social support.

Al Jazeera’s Assed Baig reports.

  1. Africans, welcome Come In the Czech Republic, the unemployment rate is 2.5%, in Poland 2.6/3%, and in Hungary 3%. We need workers to build infrastructure, highways, and motorways for municipalities and provincial counties. We need warehouse workers to lay paving stones, drivers, factory workers, nurses, cleaners of all kinds, truck drivers, bus drivers, train drivers, and tram drivers. We are building highways and motorways in Poland, the Czech Republic, Słovakia, Romania, and Bułgaria. Our vocational schools are among the best, and we will train you for free. Schools 🏫 in sectors such as plumbing, sanitary installation, HVAC and gas installation, welding, train driving 🚆🚅, and tram driving 🚋 MPK, offering free courses. Citizens of Mayotte, Réunion, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, and Saint Martin are citizens of the European Union 🇪🇺 and do not need a visa, residence permit, or work permit. You do not need a passport to enter, just an identity card.
Citizens of New Caledonia, Aruba, Çurasão, and French Polynesia also do not need a passport, visa, or work permit to enter the Schengen Area; just an identity card to register. Africans can go to school in Eastern Europe. Schools are free, healthcare is free, we have the lowest unemployment rate in Eastern Europe, shops are open on Sundays, and you can earn money on weekends. Eastern European countries need workers for industrial facilities, factories, processing, highway construction, road traffic, paving, and infrastructure construction. Food is cheap in supermarkets, lunch at a milk bar costs €2-3 per day, and electricity costs €25 per month in the spring and summer, and €50 per month in the autumn and winter from April to October. The family allowance for one child is 800 PLN (€188.45 💶 ) in school 🏫 + there is a school kit once a year in September 300 PLN (€70.68 💶)

  2. No one should live a suffering life. Unfortunately their government and many others from different countries have failed their people causing hardship and poverty! None of those politicians live in bad situations but their people do! Around the world this is the way, a disgusting, corrupted and wicked way!

  3. It's a complicated issue because the European continent is the main reason why so many countries in Africa suffer today. So many Euro countries had invaded and looted counties across the African continent, making themselves richer at the cost of the people in Africa. So many countries in Africa are unstable and have been ever since European imperialism, making it ripe for all these genocides that have occured across Africa in the past century alone. As a result, Europeans taking Africans into their various countries would be the least they can do since no country in Europe is ever going to provide reparations to the countries they once pillaged.

  4. Africans need to elect more competent, more intelligent leaders and demand better infrastructure, economic opportunities, and more investment in free public education. It’s crazy to see millions of young Africans with little education, no skills just hanging around with no direction in life and no hope for a better future. How can Africans leaders be proud of the state of their nations? How can Africans be proud when the Chinese or Russians have to build African infrastructure and mine African minerals because Africans can’t figure out how to do it by themselves?
