Kemetic,” which relates to the ancient Egyptian religion known as Kemeticism. The term “Kemet” means “the land of the Blacks” and was the ancient name for Egypt. Kemetic religion was an ancient polytheistic faith centered around upholding cosmic order (ma’at), worshiping a supreme being called Netjer, venerating ancestors, and respecting the community. This religion dates back about 4000 years and was practiced by the Black people of ancient Egypt before colonizers renamed the land and sought to suppress its spiritual traditions by closing temples and outlawing its practices for hundreds of years.
The ancient Black inhabitants of Kemet (Egypt) had a rich spiritual tradition that was deeply intertwined with their culture and daily life, including a pantheon of gods and goddesses and rituals for honoring ancestors and cosmic balance. Although much of this was suppressed through colonization and cultural erasure, a modern revival of Kemetic spirituality, known as Kemetic Orthodoxy or Kemetism, exists today to reconstruct and practice these ancient beliefs. In till we study our own roots to our own history in our own culture of who we are gods within as a people black people will full the Holy Bible in not our Bible it was created for control.
